He was a foundation member of the New Zealand Warriors in 1995 and became the club’s first player to be awarded life membership. Jones and the Warriors became inseparable and indistinguishable. He played 261 games for the club and scored 674 points and held most club records when he retired. As he inspired the Warriors, so he inspired a nation with 48 appearances for the New Zealand team between 1995 and 2006.
